Faculty of Pharmacy Applies Game-Based Interactive Learning to Promote

                                                  Effective Education

In alignment with Mansoura National University’s vision to modernize teaching methods and
foster a more interactive academic environment, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized an innovative
educational activity for students of the Pharmacology Basics course on Saturday, February 15,
2025. The event was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, University President,
and the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Ahmed El-Sheakh, Director of Pharm D (Clinical Pharmacy)
Program. Supervision was provided by Dr. Marwa Zaghloul, Course Coordinator, with the
participation of faculty members and teaching assistants from the Department of Pharmacology
and Toxicology. The activity featured a series of game-based interactive learning experiences
designed to bridge theoretical pharmacological knowledge with its clinical and practical
               applications. Among the highlights:

                   • Virtual Pharmacy Simulation – students practiced realistic decision-making by selecting
medications and determining administration routes, followed by structured discussions on
                       their advantages and limitations.
                   • Mismatch Cards Game – teams matched drugs with their correct routes of administration,
encouraging analytical thinking and reinforcing accurate pharmaceutical decision-making.
                   • Flashcard Injection Game – a competitive activity where students identified appropriate
drugs for parenteral administration, strengthening their ability to translate classroom
                       knowledge into clinical practice.

These engaging exercises created a dynamic and
                                                        collaborative learning environment, promoting
teamwork while developing essential skills such as
critical evaluation, clinical judgment, and problem-
solving. Commenting on the initiative, organizers
emphasized that simulation- and game-based learning
is not merely a motivational tool, but a strategic
                                                        teaching methodology that enhances students’
                                                        preparedness for real-world practice.
