                                                           MNU

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Mansoura National University continues to reinforce its leadership
in advancing pharmaceutical education and strengthening its integration with scientific research.
In line with the university’s strategy to enhance educational quality and align learning with cutting-
edge research developments, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a distinguished scientific activity
under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, University President, and the leadership of Assoc.
Prof. Ahmed El-Sheakh, Director of Pharm D (Clinical Pharmacy) Program. The activity took
place over two sessions, on May 5 and May 13, within the Pharmacology course, under the
supervision of Assoc. Prof. Marwa Zaghloul (course professor), Dr. Ahmed Awad, and Dr.
               Yamna Ashraf.

During the sessions, students received hands-on training in advanced
pharmacological experimentation, focusing on the effects of selected
drugs on isolated rabbit intestinal tissue. Using state-of-the-art laboratory
equipment—including a Force Transducer, Organ Bath, Data
Acquisition System, and the latest version of BIOPAC software—
students were able to conduct experiments themselves following
professional guidance. The sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation
from students, who expressed high levels of engagement and
appreciation for the opportunity to merge theory with real-world practice.
Conducting experiments directly allowed them to strengthen their
research skills, technical competence, and scientific confidence.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Ahmed El-Sheakh emphasized the
faculty’s commitment to cultivating a strong scientific research culture.
He highlighted that third-year students are already being trained in
scientific writing, particularly in producing review articles. Students are
also receiving guidance on the use of advanced reference management
software such as EndNote, equipping them with essential tools for
rigorous academic research and publication. This initiative reflects the
faculty’s holistic vision: providing future pharmacists with cutting-edge
scientific training, while also empowering them with research and
writing skills that prepare them to contribute meaningfully to the
               advancement of pharmaceutical sciences.
