Pharmacy MNU Fosters Research Skills through Practical Analytical

                                                  Chemistry Training

In support of Egypt Vision 2030 and in line with Mansoura National University’s mission to
strengthen pharmaceutical research competencies, the Department of Pharmaceutical
Analytical Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a specialized practical workshop on
the Shimadzu UV-1900i Double Beam Spectrophotometer. The training was conducted under
the supervision of Prof. Jenny Gehan Nasr and Dr. Heba Samir, with the participation of Dr.
Mohamed Othman, Dr. Maha Abdelmonem, Dr. Rehab El-Attar, and Dr. Asmaa El-Sayed,
               faculty’s staff.

               During the workshop, students gained
               valuable hands-on experience, including:

                   • Identifying and understanding the
                       components of the
                       spectrophotometer.
                   • Generating and analyzing
                       absorption spectra using the device.
                   • Applying acquired data to research
contexts, particularly in the study and
                       evaluation of pharmaceutical
                       preparations.

This practical training reflects the university’s dedication to preparing graduates who are not only
well-versed in theoretical knowledge but also proficient in using advanced laboratory
instrumentation. By mastering modern analytical techniques, students are better equipped to
contribute to innovative pharmaceutical research and to meet the evolving demands of the
               pharmaceutical industry.
