Co-curricular Student Activities
Pharmacology I Course – Level 3 (Activity II)
“Pharmacology Flash Cards: Igniting Creativity and Therapeutic Problem
Solving”
As part of the “Pharmacology I” course, theoretical part, third-year students participated in a
structured co-curricular research project centered on anemia. The project aimed to deepen students’
knowledge and understanding of anemia by exploring its types, underlying mechanisms,
epidemiology, diagnostic methods, and available treatment options. Through this academic activity,
students developed critical intellectual skills such as analyzing causes and risk factors, comparing
different classifications of anemia, and evaluating therapeutic strategies, reinforcing the clinical
relevance of the topic.
In addition to enhancing subject-specific knowledge, the project emphasized professional and
transferable skills. Students conducted literature reviews using PubMed and managed citations via
EndNote, strengthening their research competencies. Collaborative group work improved teamwork,
academic writing, and scientific communication. Organized in 50 student groups, each team was
assigned a specific topic under the department supervision, followed by the development and
submission of research drafts that were reviewed for accuracy and clarity. This initiative successfully
integrated academic learning with research practice, preparing students for evidence-based decision-
making in their future careers.
