World Kidney Day – 13 March

Recognizing the vital role that kidneys play in sustaining life — from filtering toxins

and waste products to maintaining the body’s overall balance — the PSA at the Faculty
of Pharmacy, Mansoura National University proudly joined the global observance of
World Kidney Day on March 13. Under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater,
University President, and leadership of Assoc. Prof. Ahmed El-Sheakh, Director of
Pharm D program (Clinical Pharmacy), with the supervision of Dr. Bassant Maher,
Coordinator of the PSA, students launched an educational initiative to promote kidney
health awareness.

As part of the campaign, the team designed and distributed a comprehensive
educational booklet, which covered:
• The anatomical structure and physiological functions of the kidneys
• The importance of maintaining kidney health
• Common kidney-related diseases and evidence-based prevention strategies
• Practical lifestyle routines for safeguarding kidney function and reducing
disease risk

This initiative reflects the PSA’s commitment to combining scientific knowledge with
community outreach, empowering students and the public alike to adopt healthier habits
and protect their kidneys for a better quality of life.
