Basic Pharmacology Course – Level 2
“Drug Monographs Project”
In this educational project, students were assigned to create detailed drug monographs and
contribute to the WIKI-Pharmacology MNU site. This activity aims to strengthen their knowledge
of drug history, mechanisms of action, and clinical applications while enhancing their digital and
scientific communication skills.
Preparation of comprehensive Drug Monographs: Each student prepared a detailed drug profile
including history, brand names in the Egyptian market, available routes of administration,
mechanism of action, side effects, and drug-drug interactions.
Contribution to WIKI-Pharmacology Website: Students uploaded monographs to a shared digital
platform, ensuring accessibility for peers and integration with the LMS system.
Poster & Presentation: Selected monographs were summarized into pdfs and presented during
class activities under the supervision of faculty members.
Each student’s work was evaluated based on predetermined criteria. The activity achieved the
following results:
• Enhanced knowledge of pharmacological concepts and drug details.
• Improved academic writing and citation skills using reliable sources.
• Strengthened teamwork through collaborative digital projects.
• Developed creativity in visual design of posters and online pages.
