Pharmaceutical Dosage Form III Course – Level 3
“Development and Commercialization of Solid Dosage Forms: Formulation,
Packaging, and Market Strategy”
Overview:
Each group of 10 students was given a specific drug and assigned to research relevant information
about it. They then compiled a report based on the gathered data, designed an appropriate solid
dosage form (such as tablets, capsules, or powders) tailored to the drug's properties, and prepared
the solid dosage form in the faculty’s labs. Additionally, they developed suitable packaging and
labeling for the product, devised a marketing strategy, and presented the final product.
Project Objectives:
This activity aimed to comprehensively prepare students by developing their pharmaceutical
formulation knowledge, as they learned to choose and apply appropriate techniques, enhancing
practical skills by formulating stable and effective dosage forms; fostering problem-solving and
innovation through addressing real-world formulation challenges and optimizing packaging for
usability; building marketing and business acumen via crafting strategies and delivering product
pitches; and strengthening collaboration and leadership through task delegation, project
coordination, and timely completion of shared goals.
