Pharmacognosy 1 Course (Theoretical Activity) - Level 1

“Scientific Comparison Between Natural and Synthetic Products in Disease

Treatment”

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura National University, under the leadership of Assoc. Prof.

Ahmed El-Sheakh, Director of the Pharm D (Clinical Pharmacy) Program, with the supervision
of Assoc. Prof. Amal Suleiman and the teaching team, a pioneering student activity for Level 1
students in the Pharmacognosy-1 (PG 202) course was carried out. The project was designed as
a practical academic platform to train students in scientific research, critical thinking, and
academic writing. All group contributions were compiled into a scientific book comparing herbal
and synthetic treatments for multiple diseases.

The project significantly enhanced students’
abilities in:

• Scientific research & literature review.
• Academic writing & referencing.
• Critical thinking & comparative
analysis.
• Collaboration and project management.
