Dosage form II course – Level 2
“Practical Formulation Activity”
As part of the Dosage II curriculum, second-year students participated in a hands-on activity
focused on the formulation of creams, ointments, and toothpaste. This activity aimed to connect
theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhancing students’ understanding of
pharmaceutical and personal care product development. Students engaged in theoretical sessions,
followed by supervised lab work where they formulated their own samples using standard
protocols. They also took part in group discussions to reflect on challenges, compare outcomes,
and present their final products. Each student documented their process and findings in a formal
report and presentation.
Key Learning Outcomes:
1. Gained practical experience in product formulation.
2. Developed a deeper understanding of ingredient roles and functions.
3. Enhanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
4. Improved teamwork and scientific communication abilities.
5. Gained exposure to real-world pharmaceutical practices.
6. This activity supports the program’s goal of producing practice-ready graduates equipped
with both academic knowledge and hands-on industry skills.
