Breaking the Mold: Design Thinking Camp Sparks Creative Problem-

                                       Solving at Mansoura National University

Mansoura National University launched an immersive Design Thinking Camp, held online under
the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, University President, and the leadership of Assoc. Prof.
Ahmed El-Sheakh, Director of the Training and Excellence Center and Pharm D (clinical
Pharmacy) Program. This interactive camp challenged students to break away from traditional
problem-solving approaches and discover innovative solutions through empathy, user-centered
               thinking, and rapid prototyping.

Throughout the program, participants explored the full design thinking process—from identifying
user needs and redefining challenges to brainstorming creative solutions and developing
prototypes. The camp aimed to shift mindsets, emphasizing that impactful ideas often start with
asking the right questions and deeply understanding the people they are designing for.

An inspiring guest speaker enriched the experience, encouraging students to reframe how they
approach challenges and to think beyond conventional boundaries. With interactive sessions over
two days (Thursday and Friday), the camp provided a transformative journey into innovation and
               creativity.

The Design Thinking Camp forms part of the university’s ongoing commitment to embed
creativity, empathy, and user-driven innovation into student learning—equipping future
entrepreneurs and leaders with the mindset and tools needed to address real-world challenges.
