Awareness Week on the Rights of People with Disabilities
On Sunday, November 10, a student delegation from Mansoura National University participated
in the art exhibition held as part of the “Tamkeen” initiative and in conjunction with the
“Awareness Week on the Rights of People with Disabilities”, which is being hosted at Mansoura
University from November 10 to 14 across the Delta Universities region. The participation of the
university's students came under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, University
President, and the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Ahmed El-Sheikh, Director of the PharmD (Clinical
Pharmacy) Program and Academic Supervisor of Student Activities, and Mr. Hassan Abou El-
Wafa, Student Activities Officer. This step aims to raise student awareness about the issues and
rights of people with disabilities and to highlight their talents and creativity.
The “Awareness Week on the Rights of People with Disabilities” is part of a national initiative
launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the
global campaign “Hope Givers”, with the participation of 14 universities from the Delta region.
These include Mansoura National University, Mansoura University, Tanta University, Menoufia
University, Kafr El-Sheikh University, Delta University, Damietta University, Sadat University,
Horus University, Al Salam University, Delta Technological University, New Mansoura
University, Al Riada University, and Samannoud Technological University.
On Monday, November 11, 2024, students participated in the art exhibition which aimed to
promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in society and highlight their creativity and rights
through art as a powerful tool for awareness and support.
The Center for Training and Excellence at the
university organized a workshop titled "Disability
Equality and Student Inclusion in Education", on
November 12-13, at Building A. The workshop
aimed to promote concepts of equality and
inclusion, highlight the importance of respecting
individual differences, and support students with
disabilities to achieve their academic and personal
development. It also aimed to contribute to
building a university community based on justice
and mutual respect.
