Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Antimicrobials Course – Level 3

“Integrated Antimicrobial Awareness Activity: Campaigns, Brochures, Group

                                       Challenges, and Real-Life Assignments”

This multifaceted educational activity was designed to raise student awareness and deepen
understanding of antibiotic resistance and appropriate antimicrobial use through a variety of
interactive components. Students participated in awareness campaigns, created informative
brochures, engaged in team-based challenges, and completed individual real-world
assignments—each tailored to develop scientific literacy, communication skills, and applied
               knowledge.

As part of the video-based awareness designed to foster teamwork and strengthen
campaign, students—organized into self- peer-to-peer communication. These interactive
selected groups of 5–7 from their assigned lab tasks helped students consolidate their
sections—researched the misuse of antibiotics, knowledge and simulate real-world problem-
including overuse, incorrect prescriptions, and solving environments—essential skills for
self-medication. They produced short future healthcare professionals.

discoveries, such as emerging antibiotics, homes). This task bridged the gap between
alternative treatments, and preventive theoretical instruction and practical
strategies. Students received continuous application, encouraging learners to connect
feedback throughout the process to ensure pharmacological principles with everyday
