Mansoura National University witnessed the launch of the first student medical
conference “PHocus”. The event was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, under the
patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, University President, and led by Assoc. Prof.
Ahmed El-Sheakh, Director of Pharm D program (Clinical Pharmacy). The
conference was held in collaboration with the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Students’
Federation (EPSF – Mansoura National University) and the MPP team, with the
active participation of students and faculty members from various medical disciplines.

The four-day conference featured a rich program of scientific sessions, interactive
workshops, and awareness campaigns aimed at promoting public health knowledge,
with a particular focus on cancer care. PHocus represents the first student-led platform
of its kind at the university, bringing together students from different medical faculties
around a vital scientific and humanitarian theme — the care of cancer patients — while
highlighting the crucial role of the clinical pharmacist within the healthcare system.

The opening day hosted a number of distinguished speakers, including Dr. Ahmed
Temraz, Dr. Amira Abdel Nasser, Dr. Tasneem Mohamed, and Dr. Mena Eissa.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ahmed Elsheakh emphasized the importance of this
student-led initiative, noting that it reflects the advanced awareness of students and
their growing recognition of the clinical pharmacist’s role as an active partner in the
medical team. He further added that the conference represents a step forward in
